God's Authorship Through You

April 7

"When your days are finished and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your descendant after you, who will come from you, and I will establish his kingdom."

(2 Samuel 7:12)

David had desired to build a house for God, a temple where His presence would dwell. But God turned the tables and promised instead to build David’s house; one that would be a spiritual lineage that would culminate in the Messiah. This act of divine grace reveals God’s heart: He sees the bigger picture. He honors faithfulness with promises that reach beyond the present moment.

For everyone on a journey of healing, this verse is a reminder that God’s plans for us go far beyond what we see right now. Your obedience today, your faithfulness in the small things, can ripple into blessings for others, even generations to come. God is writing a redemptive story, not just for you, but through you.

The promise of an everlasting kingdom is fulfilled in Jesus Christ. He is the Son of David, the King of Kings, and the One whose rule brings peace, justice, and restoration. When we submit our lives to Him, we become part of that unshakable kingdom. A kingdom that is no longer defined by our past but secured by His eternal purpose.

God is writing a redemptive story, not just for you, but through you.

Are you trusting in God's long-term plan, even when you can't see the outcome? How might He be using your life to build something eternal?

God in heaven, thank You for being a God who sees the beginning to the end. Help me trust in Your promises, knowing that what I do today matters for Your kingdom. Establish Your reign in my heart and use my life for Your glory. Amen.
